WitEden Symmetric 3x3x6 is a cuboid, an elongated puzzle with six layers along the long axis and a 3x3 layout on the top and bottom faces. It doesn't change shape while you solve it, because all the pieces are the same size. It's a good puzzle if you can already solve a 3x3 and want to try something other than yet another regular cube. This version has a black body with stickers.

What does Symmetric mean?

WitEden 3x3x6 cuboids come in two variants. In the Symmetric version, the rotation axis runs exactly through the middle of the puzzle, so the sides turn as two equal halves of three layers each. The Eccentric (center-shifted) version works differently: it behaves like a 3x3x7 cuboid with one layer cut off, so the axis is not in the middle. Before you buy, check which version you're after, because they are solved differently.

How to solve a 3x3x6 cuboid

The 3x3 faces turn normally, by 90 degrees. The longer side faces are rectangular, so they can only be turned by 180 degrees. Because of this, regular 3x3 algorithms need to be adapted. Six layers on the long axis also mean that the puzzle has no fixed centers on the side faces. You need to build them first, and near the end you may run into parity cases familiar to anyone who has solved cuboids with an even number of layers.

This is a puzzle for relaxed solving and for your collection, not a cube for setting times. It has no magnets and no tension adjustment, so there's no point comparing it with flagship 3x3 cubes in terms of speed or stability.

Who is it for?

For a cuber who knows a 3x3 method (ideally 4x4 too) and wants to get started with cuboids or complete a 3x3xN collection. It's not suitable as a first puzzle, because it's hard to approach without knowing how to solve a regular 3x3.
