XMD Tornado 3x3 V4 Limited Edition

XMD Tornado 3x3 V4 Limited Edition

This is a collector's version of the fourth-generation Tornado from X-Man Design, QiYi's speedcubing brand. The XMD Tornado 3x3 V4 Limited Edition has a transparent cyan body and was released in a limited run of 1200 units. It launched in September 2024. Inside is the magnetic Tornado V4 mechanism, so it's a proper speed cube for practice, not just a shelf ornament.

How it differs from the regular Tornado V4

The main differences are the look and what comes in the box. The transparent cyan plastic shows the inside of the cube, which you can't see on the regular versions. The cube also comes with a full set of accessories designed in the same style, which you won't get with the regular production versions. If you only care about the Tornado V4 mechanism itself, the standard version will be cheaper and easier to find.

Adjustment

As with other Tornado cubes, you can adjust two things: magnet strength and spring tension (elasticity). This lets you set up the cube for light, fast turning or for a tighter, more stable feel. A screwdriver for adjustment is included.

What's in the box

• Tornado V4 Limited Edition cube
• Limited Edition timer with case
• Limited Edition mat
• Limited Edition wristband and bookmark
• crystal ornament
• cleaning cloth and screwdriver
• cube stickers, instructions and collector's cards
• X-Man bag

Who is it for?

Mainly for collectors and fans of the Tornado series who want a numbered limited edition with the full set of accessories. It's also a sensible buy for speedcubers, as you get a cube, a mat and a timer in one box. As a child's first cube, the set is usually too elaborate. In that case, a simpler magnetic model is a better choice.
