YaQiLi Yoyo Red Edition

YaQiLi Yoyo Red Edition

YaQiLi Yoyo Red Edition is a small metal yoyo from YaQiLi. It has a diameter of 51.5 mm and weighs 35 g, so it sits comfortably in your hand. According to the manufacturer, the metal is corrosion-resistant, so the yoyo keeps its looks even after long use. Its shape and weight distribution help it spin steadily, so it works well both for simple up-and-down play and for learning your first tricks.

The yoyo is sold in mixed colors (Mixed color). The color of each piece is random and cannot be chosen when ordering.

How a yoyo works

A yoyo is a weighted spool with a string wound around it. You hold the free end of the string between your fingers. When you let the yoyo drop, the string unwinds and the spool starts to spin. Once the string is fully unwound, the yoyo keeps spinning because it conserves angular momentum. This lets it wind the string back up and return to your hand on its own. The same principle is at work in the Maxwell wheel, a device used in physics lessons.

There are many theories about the origin of the yoyo. The most common one says the toy comes from China.

Yoyoing: the yoyo as a sport

This simple toy gave rise to yoyoing, a sport based on performing tricks and stunts with a yoyo. Every year, competitions are held all over the world where players show off their routines. The judges assess the difficulty of the tricks, the flow and how confidently the player controls the yoyo.

For many people, including speedcubers, a yoyo is a nice break from cubes. It trains coordination and a feel for hand movement, and it also fits in your pocket, so you can play with it during any break.

Who is it for?

YaQiLi Yoyo Red Edition is a great choice for kids and adults who want to get started with yoyos or need an extra one to carry around. It also works well as a small add-on to a gift. If you want a specific color, remember that in this model the color is random.
