You have to recognise the correct position of each piece by its shape, just like with the Mirror Cube. The height differences can be quite small, which is why the puzzle is harder than it looks. The cube turns lightly, but it is not a speed cube. There is practically no corner cutting, so you need to align the layers carefully before each move. Fast turning easily leads to lockups. It is a puzzle to solve at a relaxed pace rather than against the clock. For timed practice, a regular 3x3 cube is a better choice.
