The YJ MGC V2 3x3x3 is a light (approx. 78 g), fast magnetic cube, the second generation of the MGC. It has better corner cutting than the first version. You adjust the tension with screws, and the box includes three sets of springs of different stiffness.

YJ MGC V2 3x3x3

YJ MGC V2 3x3x3 is the second generation of the magnetic MGC cube from YJ (YongJun). It was released in 2018 and replaced the original MGC. According to the manufacturer and distributors, it is about 8 g lighter than its predecessor, has better corner cutting and is faster. On top of that, you get tension adjustment with screws and three sets of springs in the box, so you can set the cube up to match your own solving style.

How it turns

The MGC V2 weighs approx. 78 g, so it is light and fast. The feel is soft and slightly crunchy. Corner cutting is good, and the magnets help the layers settle into place during fast turning. The stickerless version has an internal mechanism made of uncoloured plastic with coloured caps on the outside.

Straight out of the box, the cube may feel too fast and not very stable, especially on looser settings. Some users report popping in that case. Tightening the screws or fitting stiffer springs usually helps. The cube then slows down a bit but becomes more controllable. Good lubing also makes a big difference. Expect to experiment with the MGC V2 for a while before it performs at its best.

Tension adjustment and interchangeable springs

Tension is adjusted the classic way, with screws in the core. A screwdriver is included. You also get three sets of caps with springs of different stiffness:

  • blue (stiff): more stable, controlled turning,
  • matte green (medium): installed at the factory,
  • green (soft): lighter, faster turning.

Who is it for?

For a cuber who already solves fairly fast and wants a light, fast magnetic cube that can be fine-tuned. The MGC V2 is also a good fit if you enjoy setting up springs and tension yourself. It is an older design than newer YJ models such as the MGC Elite V2 or MGC EVO V2. It does not have the spring compression system introduced in later cubes from this line. A complete beginner who does not want to adjust anything may be happier with a cube that is ready to solve right out of the box.

    szczerze nie spodziewałem się. Po wyjęciu trochę sucha lecz po około 10 ułożeń jest rewelacyjna. aktualnie układam ją 1ręką i jest super. świetnie mi idzie raz 1:15 dwa razy 59s
    i rekord to 49s. polecam jak najbardziej do jednej ręki. lepszej do 1ręki nie znajdziecie. polecam jeszcze raz.

    Kostka jest jedną z najlepszych, chodzi płynnie i szybko, nie ma wiekszego problemu z ścinaniem zakrętów, niektórzy mówią że kostke trzeba nasmarowac jednak ja nie miałego takich problemów, ale jak na kostke magnetyczną magnesy mogłyby być silniejsze. W pudełku dostaniemy:

    Najlepsza kostka jaką miałem!

    Kostka out of box sprawia wrażenie przeciętnej. Po zrobieniu około 10 ułożeń robi się dużo lepsza. Wziąłem ją na zawody i się nie zawiodłem. Śrubki polecam wymienić na żółte. Polecam kostkę dla bardziej zaawansowanych speedcuberów.
