YJ RuiPo 2x2x2

YJ RuiPo 2x2x2 is a non-magnetic 2x2 cube from the budget Rui series. It measures 50 mm and weighs about 70 g. It makes sense as a first 2x2 cube for someone who is just learning to solve, or as an inexpensive model for your collection. It is not a cube for chasing records, but it is perfectly fine for learning a method and relaxed solving.

How it turns

The RuiPo is light and fairly fast. The feel is slightly crunchy, so you notice the turns more clearly than on more expensive, smoother cubes. Turning is smooth and lockups are rare. Corner cutting is about 45°. That is enough to start with, but the cube is less forgiving of very imprecise moves than modern speedcubing models. Stability is good for a cube without magnets.

Mechanism and tension adjustment

The mechanism resembles older MoYu 2x2 cubes. The corners consist of three parts and a foot that closes the piece. The inside of the cube is made of undyed plastic. Tension is set with adjustment screws: tightening them makes the cube more stable and predictable, while loosening them makes it turn faster and lighter.

Who is it for?

For beginners, kids learning their first 2x2 method, and collectors who want an inexpensive YJ model. The cube is legal for official competitions. If you already solve regularly and want a faster, more forgiving cube, you should rather choose a magnetic 2x2 model. Magnets help align the layers, and the RuiPo does not have them.
