YJ YuChuang 5x5x5 Magnetic

YJ YuChuang 5x5x5 Magnetic is a budget magnetic 5x5 cube from YongJun. Many shops also sell it as the YuChuang V2 M. It was released in 2019, and at that time it was YJ's first 5x5 with factory-installed magnets, so you don't need to magnetize anything yourself. The cube is legal for official competitions and comes in two versions: Black and Stickerless Bright.

Design

The mechanism is based on solutions typical of newer 5x5 cubes. The edge and corner bases are dual-track, and the pieces have many deep grooves that reduce resistance while turning. The central edge is unusual: its base is very thin and has the same width as the outer edges.

How it turns

Turning is light and stable. The outer layers perform best: they are fast and still easy to control. The inner layers have a heavier, drier feel and catch more often, especially when your turns are not precise. If your slice fingertricks are not very accurate, you will notice the difference.

The magnets are noticeably weak, much weaker than in most magnetic 5x5 cubes. They gently help align the layers but don't give a strong "click". Some people like this light, less snappy feel, while others will prefer stronger magnets.

Adjustment

Tension is changed with adjustment screws. The cube has no adjustment system with preset levels and no interchangeable springs, so you set it up by hand.

Who is it for?

It's a good first magnetic 5x5 for someone who has already mastered the 3x3 and wants to start solving bigger cubes without buying a flagship model right away. It also works well as an inexpensive backup cube or for learning reduction. A more advanced cuber who needs fast inner layers and stronger magnets will probably notice the limits of this design quite quickly.
