YuXin Black Kylin 3x3x3

YuXin Black Kylin 3x3x3 is a budget speed cube released in 2018. It has no magnets, a matte (frosted) plastic finish and a stickerless bright color scheme, which means colored pieces with no stickers. The cube is cheap, yet it's perfectly suitable for speedcubing, so it works well as a first cube for learning. Many people also use it as a backup cube or one to carry around in a backpack.

How it turns

The plastic has a noticeably rough texture. Thanks to this, the cube sits securely in your hands and doesn't slip during faster turning. There are grooves inside the pieces that reduce friction. The mechanism and feel are similar to the YuXin Little Magic. For its price range, the cube is fast and has decent corner cutting. However, it can't match newer magnetic designs, as it lacks stability and the feel can be a bit dry. Some users even describe it as "cheap". Lubing usually improves the smoothness of turning noticeably.

Setup out of the box

Right after taking the cube out of the box, it's worth loosening the adjustment screws. The factory setting is quite tight, and once loosened, the cube turns more easily and cuts corners better. Tension is adjusted with the screws in the centers. The cube has no separate spring compression adjustment system.

Who is it for?

Above all for beginners and for parents looking for a cheap but solid first cube for their child. More advanced speedcubers can magnetize it themselves. After this modification, the Black Kylin becomes more stable and easier to control, so it may also appeal to people who already solve fast. If you want magnets right away without modding, consider a factory-magnetic model, e.g. the YuXin Kylin V2 M.

    Jest szybka. Zakręty ścina nie najgorzej. Feeling również nie jest zły przy tak niskiej cenie. Kostka pozwala na szybkie układanie i napewno sprawdzi się dla mniej lub bardziej zaawansowanych układaczy. Niestety trochę czuć po niej tanim plastikiem.

    Zaskoczyło mnie

    Kostka za 10zł w sumie taka droższa kostka z kiosku a tu taka jakość! Po wyjęciu z pudełka nie trzeba regulować szybka i płynna. Niestety po jakimś czasie ok. Miesiąc plastik zaczyna się ścierać to normalne ale w tej kostce ściera się tak mocno! Na początku ścinała 45 stopni teraz ledwo 10 zetnie ale i tak jest dobra na start

    Kostka za dosłownie 10zł!

    Po nasmarowaniu i dopasowaniu śrubek chodzi zaskakująco dobrze.

    Jest bardzo lekka i dość głośno chodzi, ale (wg mnie) ma całkiem przyjemny dźwięk, który zachęca do układania (może to niektórych rozbawi, ale nieraz chwyciłem tą kostkę zamiast MoYu Weilong GTS3 M, bo akurat miałem ochotę na feeling jaki daje BlackKylin)

    Z powodów niskich kosztów produkcji niektóre kawałki mogą mieć jakiś mały ślad po odlewaniu, co z początku może trochę zwalniać kostkę, ale w moim wypadku dość szybko się starły (jakieś 100-200 ułożeń) i chodzi teraz o wiele lepiej.

    Trochę skrzypi kiedy się ją ściska.

    W moim odczuciu nie różni się bardzo od kostki LittleMagic. Black Kylin ma trochę gorszy plastik.
