YuXin Little Magic 11x11x11

YuXin Little Magic 11x11x11 is a big cube from the budget Little Magic series, released in 2021. YuXin already had 11x11 cubes in its lineup, but this is the first one in the Little Magic series. The stickerless bright version has no stickers. The colors are in the plastic itself, so nothing will wear off or peel, even after long solving sessions.

How it turns

The Little Magic series has a light, "airy" feel, and this model keeps it. The cube turns smoothly right out of the box. With this many layers, it matters that turns go through without much resistance. Still, there is no hiding that this is a lower-priced big cube. If the layers are not lined up precisely, catching can happen, so it is better to turn more calmly and keep the layers aligned. If the surface is slightly slippery from factory lube after shipping, just wipe it off.

The cube measures approx. 110 mm and weighs approx. 850 g, so it is a completely different experience from a 3x3. You solve it with both hands and at a fairly steady pace, and in longer sessions you will feel its size and weight.

Tension adjustment

Tension is set with adjustment screws. You can tighten the cube a little when it feels too loose, or loosen it when turning feels too heavy. With big cubes, it is best to adjust in small steps and check how the cube behaves each time.

Little Magic or HuangLong?

Little Magic is YuXin's cheaper series. The HuangLong 11x11 sits higher in the manufacturer's lineup. If you want to find out what solving an 11x11 is like, or you are adding to your big cube collection without spending much, Little Magic is the likely choice.

Who is it for?

This 11x11 cube is for those who already handle smaller big cubes well, such as a 6x6 or 7x7, and want to try something bigger. It is also a good pick for collectors. Keep in mind that 11x11 is not an official WCA event, so you cannot use this cube at competitions. For a child's first cube, a 3x3 is a better choice.
