YuXin Little Magic 3x3 Magnetic UV is the factory-magnetized version of the Little Magic, one of the most popular budget speed cubes. It differs from the regular Little Magic M in its UV coating, which gives the plastic a distinct gloss. The mechanism and magnets are the same in both versions. The cube comes in a stickerless bright color scheme, so the colors are part of the plastic and nothing can peel off or wear away.

How does it turn?

The Little Magic M UV is not a particularly fast cube. Reviewers and buyers tend to highlight its controlled turning right out of the box and well-matched magnets that suit its speed. The magnets are medium strength. The layers clearly snap into place, but you don't have to fight them. As a result, the cube overshoots less often and is easier to control if you're just learning to solve faster. If you're looking for a cube for very high TPS with a light, fast feel, you may find it too calm.

UV coating or the regular M version?

The non-UV version has a smooth, glossy uncoated shell. The UV coating gives a high-gloss surface with more grip, so the cube sits more securely in your fingers, especially during fast turning. The coating doesn't affect how the cube turns, so the choice comes down to which surface you prefer.

Who is it for?

It's a good choice for your first magnetic 3x3 cube, including for a child who wants to start speedsolving. The Little Magic also works well as a backup cube or a cube to carry around, because at this low price you don't need to worry about it too much. There's no MagLev and no magnets in the core. If you want to change settings and tune the cube to your liking, you should look higher up the range, e.g. at the newer Little Magic V3 with MagLev.
