YuXin Magnetic Redi Cube, also known as the YuXin Eight Petals, is YuXin's magnetic version of the Redi Cube. The Redi Cube is a cube-shaped puzzle that turns around its corners rather than around its faces like a classic 3x3 cube. Each face has eight pieces: four corners and four edges. That's where the name "Eight Petals" comes from. This was the second mass-produced Redi Cube, after the MoYu model. It's also magnetic, which was rare in 2020, when it came out, among puzzles outside the official WCA events.

The inside is built differently from the MoYu Redi. The internal pieces are made of uncoloured plastic, and the colours come from caps attached on the outside. The magnets aren't glued in but seated inside the pieces. The edges have wide, long tabs that hold them in the mechanism. Thanks to this, popping practically never happens, even with fast and not very precise turning.

Turning is very smooth. The only slight resistance comes from the strong magnets, which clearly snap each move into place. This makes the cube stable and predictable, but it isn't one of the lightest-turning puzzles. If you prefer a very loose, "floaty" feel, you may need a moment to get used to it. The magnets and wide edges handle fast fingertricks well, so this model is suitable for working on your times, not just for casual solving.

The Redi Cube isn't a WCA event, so you won't use this cube at official competitions. It is, however, a great next step if you've mastered the 3x3, Pyraminx or Skewb and want to try a different type of puzzle. The Redi Cube is relatively easy to learn, so it also makes a good gift for a child who enjoys puzzles. The Stickerless Bright version has coloured plastic instead of stickers, so nothing wears off or peels.
