Yuxin Puzzle Maze Ball

Yuxin Puzzle Maze Ball is a maze enclosed in a plastic sphere. Inside there is a small metal ball. You rotate and tilt the whole sphere in your hands, and the ball rolls along the internal tracks. Your task is to guide it through the successive sections in a fixed, numbered order. It is a different kind of puzzle from a 3x3 cube. Nothing twists or scrambles here, so you don't need to know any algorithms.

How it works

What counts is patience and a steady hand. A movement that is too strong usually means the ball falls off the track and you have to go back a bit. Speed doesn't help much here. The challenge is to sense from the outside how to tilt the sphere so the ball reaches the next part of the route. There is no adjustment and there are no settings. You can start solving it right out of the box.

The sphere is about 113 mm in diameter and weighs about 79 g. It sits comfortably in both hands and is light enough not to tire you, even during longer sessions.

Who is it for?

The Maze Ball makes a great gift for a child or for someone who enjoys puzzles but doesn't solve cubes. For cubers, it's more of a break from speedcubing. You can pick it up between training sessions or put it on your desk next to your collection. It is not a WCA puzzle, so it has nothing to do with competitions. If you are looking for a puzzle where technique and time matter, a classic cube is a better choice. Here, it's all about precise movements and concentration.
