YuXin Star Path Megaminx solves just like a regular megaminx, but it looks completely different. The face centers stick out and are enlarged, while the corners and edges are set back into the body of the puzzle. It's a shape mod from the Interstellar series, which also includes the Star Navi, Space Swift and Star Burst. All of these models use a megaminx mechanism and differ only in shape. The version we offer is stickerless in the bright color scheme.

A megaminx in a different shape: how to solve it

The moves, the order of steps and the algorithms are the same as on a standard dodecahedron. If you can solve a megaminx, you can solve the Star Path too. The difference is in how you see it. Because of the protruding centers and recessed corners, it's harder to tell at a glance where the pieces are and how they're oriented, so your first solves will usually be slower than on a regular megaminx. That's exactly where the fun of this puzzle lies.

The Star Path has no magnets, and you won't find the features typical of flagship speed cubes. It's a puzzle for fun and for your collection. It isn't meant for breaking records, and because of its non-standard shape it can't be used in the megaminx event at competitions either.

Who is it for?

For anyone who already knows the megaminx and wants to solve it in a new form, and for collectors of dodecahedral puzzles. If you already have other models from the Interstellar series, the Star Path makes a great addition. For your first megaminx, it's better to buy a standard model. Master the solving method on the regular shape first, and only then move on to a shape mod.
