Z-cube Cubic Digital Klotski is a sliding puzzle: the classic Klotski (15 puzzle) moved onto a cube. You don't turn layers like on a regular 3x3 cube. Instead, you slide individual pieces across the surface of the cube. A piece can move from one face to another, so the whole cube works as a single board. This version is "digital" because the pieces have numbers on them. Your goal is to gather the colors on each face and put the numbers in the correct order.

How solving works

In a regular 15 puzzle you have a flat board and slide the tiles within it. Here the pieces can travel between faces, so a move on one face affects the others. You have to think about the whole cube, not a single board. Matching the colors is only the first stage. Putting the numbers in the correct order also requires planning several moves ahead. Algorithms from the 3x3 cube won't help much here, because this is a completely different kind of puzzle. That's why it can also appeal to people who mastered the 3x3 cube long ago.

Digital version

The same type of puzzle also comes in a version without numbers, with colors only. The Digital version is harder because you need to arrange the pieces in a specific order, not just gather the colors on the faces.
