Z-Cube Metallic Pyraminx M is a magnetic Pyraminx that differs from regular models mainly in its looks. The outer surfaces of the pieces have a shiny metallic coating, while the inside is regular plastic. The same series was previously known for its Metallic 3x3 cubes. In our shop, this Pyraminx is available in the stickerless bright colour scheme, so there are no stickers: the face colours come from the coloured metallic finish.

How does it turn?

Inside, it has a standard magnetic Pyraminx mechanism; outside, a different finish. Factory-installed magnets help the layers snap into place, so moves feel more predictable than on puzzles without magnets. Sellers describe the turning as fast and smooth. An unboxing video review rates this model well, but treats it more as a puzzle for fun than as gear for setting records. That's a reasonable expectation. If you train Pyraminx for time and fight for every tenth of a second, you will usually choose a model designed specifically for speedcubing, often with extra adjustment options. The manufacturer says nothing about adjustment in the Metallic M.

Metallic finish

The metallic coating strongly reflects light, so this Pyraminx looks great on a shelf and stands out in a collection. The magnetic version (M) also has a non-magnetic counterpart. The M version gives more stable, more "controlled" turns, so it is the more comfortable choice for regular solving.

Who is it for?

This model is a good fit if you want a Pyraminx with an unusual look but don't want to give up magnets and comfortable turning. It also works well as a gift or as a first Pyraminx for a child who already solves the 3x3 and wants to try something new. The Pyraminx is easier than the 3x3 cube, so you can learn the beginner method fairly quickly. For advanced competitors, we recommend dedicated speedcubing Pyraminx models instead, and the Metallic M can be an addition to their collection.
