Z-Cube UV Print 3x3

This transparent 3x3 cube from Zcube has no stickers. The face colors are printed directly onto the plastic using UV printing. The Z-Cube UV Print 3x3 comes in the classic 56 mm size and has a transparent body that lets you see inside the cube. It is a non-magnetic cube for casual solving, not a flagship speed cube.

UV print instead of stickers

The colored tiles are printed on the surface of the pieces. That means there are no stickers to peel off over time, wear at the corners or collect dirt along the edges. The print is smooth and slightly glossy, and the transparent plastic gives the cube a look that regular stickerless cubes don't have.

A note on the name: "UV Print" is not the same as UV Coated. On speedcubing cubes, a UV coating covers the entire surface and changes the grip. Here, "UV" refers only to the technique used to print the colors. The cube has no separate UV coating.

How it turns

The cube has no magnets, Ball-Core or MagLev. The layers don't snap into place on their own, so you have to align them yourself, and fast, imprecise moves are more likely to cause lockups than on a magnetic cube. For relaxed solving and learning the beginner's method, this isn't a problem. If you want to improve your times and solve at a higher TPS, you'll be better off with an inexpensive magnetic 3x3, even an entry-level one.

Who is it for?

For anyone who wants an unusual cube for their desk or collection, and as a gift for a child or someone just getting to know the puzzle cube. A speedcuber will see it more as a curiosity than a training cube. Zcube also makes 2x2 and Pyraminx versions in the same style, so it's easy to put together a matching set.
