Z-Cube UV Print Pyraminx is a transparent stickerless Pyraminx. The colors of the faces are UV-printed directly onto the clear plastic, so you can see the inside of the puzzle through the colored areas. It's a simple, non-magnetic pyramid-shaped puzzle. It works well as an interesting collection piece, a gift or a first introduction to the Pyraminx. For timed practice, you'd be better off choosing something else.

UV print instead of stickers

In a classic transparent Pyraminx, the colors come from stickers, which can wear off over time, peel at the corners or collect dirt along the edges. Here, the color is printed on the surface of the pieces, so there's nothing to peel off. Don't confuse this with the UV coating known from speed cubes. There, the UV coating covers the entire surface and changes the grip, while in this model the UV technique is used only to print the colors. This Pyraminx has no additional coating.

How it turns

There are no magnets, MagLev or Ball-Core inside. It's a plain mechanism without any layer stabilization systems, so the turns have no magnetic "click" and the layers don't snap into place on their own. In user reviews, this model comes across more as a decorative puzzle than a fast Pyraminx. Smoothness and corner cutting fall behind speedcubing models. For relaxed solving and learning your first method, it's perfectly adequate.

Who is it for?

For people who collect unusual, transparent puzzles. It also makes a great affordable gift for a child who wants to try something other than a 3x3 cube. A speedcuber planning to compete in the Pyraminx event will be happier with a magnetic model with tension adjustment.
