Andromeda Dodecahedron Plus is a dodecahedral jumbling puzzle by Galaxy Puzzle, designed by David Pitcher, with 60 axes of rotation. In the Unbandaged version, the corners and the pieces next to the face centers can swap places, which makes it harder than the standard Andromeda Dodecahedron. It's a puzzle for experienced collectors, not a speedcubing puzzle.
Andromeda Dodecahedron Plus is a dodecahedron-shaped jumbling puzzle designed by David Pitcher and mass-produced by Galaxy Puzzle. It builds on the idea behind his earlier Andromeda Cube. It looks similar to a Megaminx, but it solves in a completely different way. Its geometry is based on the pentagonal hexecontahedron, which gives it 60 axes of rotation. "Plus (Unbandaged)" means this version has less bandaging than the standard Andromeda Dodecahedron.
On a classic cube, every turn moves pieces into symmetrical positions, and you can keep turning any face. That is not the case here. Every move is a jumbling move: pieces shift into unusual positions, the shape changes, and some axes stay blocked until you return a layer to the right position. Solving it means constantly thinking about which moves are possible at any given moment. You can't simply reuse your Megaminx algorithms.
The unbandaged version is bigger than the standard one. Removing one layer of bandaging lets the corners and the pieces next to the face centers swap places, which is not possible on the basic version. Unlike the Andromeda Cube, there is no overhang bandaging here, so you can turn several axes on a single face. This gives you more freedom of movement, but also far more possible scrambles. Collectors who own both models usually find the Plus noticeably harder.
Sellers and users agree that it turns well for such a complex geometry. However, this is not a speedcubing puzzle. What matters here is precise moves and carefully aligning the layers before the next turn, not TPS.
For experienced collectors and puzzlers who have already tackled large and unusual puzzles and are looking for something truly challenging. The large puzzle also looks great on a collection shelf. For your first dodecahedron-shaped puzzle, a regular Megaminx is a better choice.
