Angstrom Dignitas is a medium-viscosity silicone lube from the Angstrom line by Cubicle. It aims for a balance: your cube should turn more smoothly and quietly without losing too much speed. Dignitas is a piece lube, which means you apply it to the surfaces where the pieces rub against each other as you turn.

How it changes your cube

After applying Dignitas, turning feels smoother and the dry, scratchy feel fades. The cube also gets quieter. Thanks to its medium viscosity, the cube doesn't feel "heavy" the way it can with thick lubes, yet it is a bit more controlled than with very thin, fast silicones. It works well on a new cube that feels too dry or loud straight out of the box, and on a cube that has lost its smoothness after long use.

Micro-scale nitride and plastic protection

The formula contains micro-scale nitride particles. According to the manufacturer, they settle in the grooves caused by friction, which protects the plastic from further wear. Cubicle also states that Dignitas keeps its speed and smoothness longer than regular, unmodified fast silicones, so you need to lube your cube less often. How long it lasts depends on how much you solve and how much lube you apply.

How to use

Apply a small amount to the pieces, then do a few dozen turns to spread the lube. It's better to add a little more later than to overdo it at the start, because too much lube slows the cube down. Dignitas is often paired with the thicker Angstrom Gravitas, which is used on the core. This combination lets you tune the feel of the pieces and the stability of the core separately.
