Diansheng 2x2 M Plus S is an affordable 50 mm magnetic 2x2 cube, released in 2021. Right out of the box it is fast and very loose. In motion it feels similar to the DaYan TengYun. It comes in a stickerless bright version, which means no stickers and light, vivid colors.How this 2x2 cube turns
The layers turn easily and you don't need a long break-in period. Corner cutting is good, so an imprecise turn usually still goes through instead of ending in a lockup. The magnets give a clear point where the layer stops and help it snap into place. The loose setup has a downside too: with aggressive turning, overshooting happens more easily, and if you prefer a more controllable 2x2, you will probably tighten the screws right away.Internals and tension adjustment
Inside the cube you will find a traditional design and a traditional screw-based tension adjustment system. There are no features known from flagship 2x2 cubes, such as magnet strength adjustment. Tightening the screws makes the cube more stable and slightly slower, while loosening them makes it faster and looser. A screwdriver is included. A distinctive feature of this model is the grooves on the inner parts of the corners, resembling fish scales.Who is it for?
The cube is aimed at beginners and intermediate cubers. It works well as a first magnetic 2x2 or an inexpensive spare for practice. It is allowed in official competitions, so you can also use it at WCA competitions. An experienced speedcuber comparing flagship 2x2 cubes with extensive adjustment options will rather look in a higher price range.Specifications
