What to expect

This is a budget model, not a flagship. It doesn't have the tension adjustment systems, MagLev or Ball-Core that you'll find in much more expensive 5x5 cubes. Both cubes belong to the same DianSheng series. The Solar 5x5 M Plus is the magnetic version, a cube for those who want more stable, more predictable layer behaviour and are thinking about improving their times. The basic Solar 5x5x5 is enough if you mainly care about learning and a low price.
