GAN 356 X Numerical 3x3x3

GAN 356 X Numerical is a flagship magnetic 3x3 cube released by GANCUBE in 2018. It is derived from the 356 X IPG5. The body, the mechanism and the way it turns are the same; only the adjustment system is different. This version uses GES v5 nuts. The cube is 56 mm, weighs approx. 75 g and is legal for official competitions. Available colour variants: Black and Stickerless Bright.

Magnet adjustment and GES v5

You can change the magnet strength in this cube. GAN does not glue the magnets permanently into the pieces; it places them in replaceable capsules instead. The set includes four sets:

1. green: weak magnets,
2. white: medium, factory-installed,
3. yellow: strong,
4. transparent: no magnets.

This lets you set up the cube with a distinct, strong "click", with lighter resistance, or with no magnets at all if you want to see how it turns on the mechanism alone.

Tension and compression are adjusted with the GES v5 nuts. Two sets are included. The light blue ones are factory-installed and have settings (1) 0.6 mm and (3) 0.8 mm from the core. The dark blue ones have settings (2) 0.7 mm and (4) 0.9 mm. This gives you four distance settings. Use the adjustment tool included in the set.

Who is it for?

For cubers who like to choose their own setup and want to see how magnet strength and nut settings affect turning. Beginners can keep the factory settings (medium magnets and light blue GES) and change them only once they know what they are missing. Keep in mind that this is a 2018 design. GAN later released the GAN356 X V2, in which the magnets are changed by hand and the adjustment was switched to the GES Pro system.
