GAN 356 X Numerical V2.0 3x3x3

The next version of one of GAN's best-known flagships. GAN 356 X Numerical V2.0 is a magnetic 3x3 cube that builds on the 356 X IPG5 and Numerical V1 models. The piece design and the way it behaves while solving have not changed. What sets the new version apart from the IPG5 is the adjustment system, and from the Numerical V1, weaker factory magnets. The cube is available in the stickerless bright version.

How it turns

The 356 X series is known for smooth, quiet turning and fast corner cutting. The weaker magnets compared to V1 give a lighter turn and a less pronounced "click" when the layers align. If you like a cube that feels firmly "locked in", the factory setup may feel too loose. In that case, simply fit the stronger magnetic capsules included in the set.

Adjustment: GES v5 numerical nuts and interchangeable magnets

You set up this cube without turning screws by feel. Each GES v5 nut has fixed positions, so it's easy to give all faces identical tension. The set includes two sets of nuts that together give four settings:

• light blue (factory-installed): positions (1) 0.6 mm and (3) 0.8 mm from the core,
• dark blue: positions (2) 0.7 mm and (4) 0.9 mm from the core.

You can also change the magnet strength. The magnetic capsules are swapped by hand, without disassembling the cube: the new capsule pushes the old one out. There are four options to choose from: green (weak), white (medium, factory-installed), yellow (strong) and transparent (no magnets).

Who is it for?

This cube is best suited to a cuber who likes testing different settings and finding their own setup. Combining the nuts and magnets gives over a dozen combinations. Keep in mind, however, that this is a design from 2020. It has no Ball-Core or MagLev, which many newer flagships feature today. Beginners can solve on the factory settings and change them only once they know what they want. The cube is approved for official competitions.
