GAN Mosaic Cube 6x6 is a set for building mosaics out of puzzle cubes. Inside you'll find 36 small 3x3 cubes and a frame where you arrange them in a 6 by 6 grid. Each cube shows one face, which means 9 coloured squares. The whole picture is 18 x 18, or 324 "pixels". That's enough for a logo, a flag, a simple video game character, some lettering or a simplified portrait.

How a mosaic is made

You solve each cube one by one so that its front face shows the right part of the pattern, then put it in its place in the frame. The design isn't permanent. When you want to make a new picture, you take the cubes out, rearrange them and start again. The included key lets you remove the cubes, so you don't have to pry them out with your fingers. The cubes use tile stickers and, according to users, turn smoothly straight out of the box. Still, these are mosaic cubes, not speedcubing cubes. They measure approx. 28 mm, so they are noticeably smaller than a standard 3x3 cube.

Frame and connecting sets

The frame has a stand, so you can display your finished mosaic on a desk or shelf at the angle you like. It also has a hole, so you can hang it on the wall. The frame has built-in magnets that let you connect several frames into one larger surface. Only frames of the same size can be connected. If you want to build bigger pictures right away, check out the 10x10 version with 100 cubes. The 6x6 version has a frame around its edges, so it also looks great as a standalone picture.
