The Gan Skewb M Enhanced is a magnetic Skewb with GES v5 adjustment.

GAN started out with 3x3 cubes, then released a Pyraminx and a Megaminx, and in 2020 added a Skewb to its lineup. The Gan Skewb M Enhanced is the middle version of this model. It has 32 magnets and matte plastic without a UV coating. Our unit comes in the stickerless bright colour scheme. The Skewb is legal in official WCA competitions, so it works both for practice at home and for competing.

Magnets: how Enhanced differs from the Standard version

The Standard version only has core positioning, i.e. 8 magnets between the core and the corner feet. The Enhanced version has the same setup plus classic magnets in the pieces themselves, between the centres and the corners. As a result, the puzzle "clicks" more noticeably into every position, finishes turns on its own and stays more stable during fast turning. There is also an Enhanced UV version. It has the same mechanism but differs in its glossy coating, which gives more grip.

GES v5 adjustment

The Gan Skewb M was the first Skewb that lets you adjust both the tension and the compression of the springs. This is done with the fifth-generation GES system. The set includes two sets of GES nuts and a tool, so you can set the puzzle looser for speed or tighter for control. Some users complain that the corner caps are hard to remove at first.

How it turns

Reviewers describe it as a fast and smooth Skewb with good corner cutting. The centres have no grooves, so if you like to grip the puzzle firmly, the matte surface may feel a little slippery. In that case, consider the UV version.

Who is it for?

The Enhanced version makes sense if you train Skewb seriously and want strong, clear positioning. For getting started, the Standard version or a cheaper magnetic Skewb will be more than enough.
