The stronger version of the HuaMeng TG V2 with a 20-magnet Ball-Core and 88 magnets. You set the corner magnets with a single geared dial in 6 steps, and on top of that you get edge magnet, elasticity and tension adjustment. The cube weighs approx. 82 g, measures 56 mm and has a UV finish.

The second generation of the TG from HuaMeng, a MoYu sub-brand, comes in two versions. HuaMeng TG V2 3x3 20-M Ball Core UV is the stronger one. It has a 20-magnet Ball-Core and 88 magnets in total, and it is the only V2 version that lets you adjust the edge magnets. The main new feature of this generation, though, is the adjustment method. You set the corner magnets with a geared dial, and every setting has its own number.
On most cubes with adjustable magnets, you set each corner separately, so it's easy to leave one at a different strength. In the TG V2, a four-stage gear module moves all four corner magnets at once with a single dial. Each click shifts the magnet by 0.1 mm. This means that after cleaning or lubing, you can return to exactly the same setup.
Together, that gives you almost 3,000 combinations. If you like testing different settings, there's plenty to work with here. If you just want to solve, you can pick one setting and never touch the adjustment again.
Early user reviews mention lighter turning than in previous HuaMeng cubes. The cube is said to be snappy and responsive to finger moves, and the feel is rather tactile, at times crunchy. Out of the box it can feel sandy and catching can occur, so it's worth choosing the right lube and settings straight away. Users have mixed opinions about the magnet strength: some praise the clear layer snapping, others expected more. At 82 g it is noticeably heavier than the 8-M version. If you prefer light cubes, keep this in mind.
Both versions have the Core Positioning 1.0 system, meaning magnets in the Ball-Core that work together with magnets in the corner feet. The 8-M version has 8 magnets in the core and 64 magnets in total, weighs approx. 72 g and has no edge magnet adjustment. It is lighter and feels faster right out of the box. The 20-M version pulls the pieces more strongly towards the core, gives more stable control and the full range of adjustments, but it is heavier.
For speedcubers who like stable, strongly magnetic cubes and want to set every parameter themselves. If you prefer a light cube and don't like changing settings, the 8-M version will suit you better. As a first cube for a child, this model is too advanced; a simpler magnetic 3x3 will do.
