LanLan Snake 36-blocks

LanLan Snake 36-blocks is a snake puzzle, not a classic cube. It consists of 36 connected wedge-shaped pieces, i.e. triangular prisms. Every joint can be rotated, so you can turn one snake into animals, objects, geometric figures and 3D forms. There is no single "solved" state you have to return to. The challenge is to come up with a shape or recreate one from a diagram. This version comes in the stickerless bright colour scheme. The pieces are made of coloured plastic with no stickers, so nothing wears off or peels away.

36 or 24 pieces?

The classic snake has 24 pieces, and we also offer the LanLan Snake 24-blocks. The 36-blocks version is longer, so it gives you more possibilities. You can build bigger, more detailed figures, and some shapes can only be made with a longer snake. Keep in mind, though, that with more segments it is harder to control the whole puzzle, and more complex forms take longer to build. If this is your first puzzle of this type, the shorter snake is a bit easier. The 36-blocks version is a better fit for someone who wants to build more elaborate shapes.

How to use it

You rotate the segments relative to each other, and every move changes the layout of the whole snake. Over time you learn which sequence of twists produces a given shape. There are plenty of free instructions and step-by-step videos online for 36-piece snakes. They make it easy to start with simple figures before moving on to your own designs. The snake also works great as a fidget toy you can twist in your hands without any particular goal.

Who is it for?

For kids and adults who enjoy 3D puzzles and want a break from algorithms and timing. The snake does not require knowledge of any solving methods. It is great for training spatial imagination and makes a nice gift for someone just starting out with puzzles. It is not a speedcubing puzzle and has no tension adjustment, as that does not apply to this type of product.
