Lee Mirror Super 4x4 is a handmade Lee mod that works differently from a typical 4x4 mirror cube. Instead of a standard 4x4, it runs on a 7x7 mechanism, and 3D-printed pieces are glued onto the pieces to give the cube its mirror cube shape. All the stickers are the same colour (Silver variant), so you solve the cube by shape, not by colour. The pieces differ in thickness, and the goal is to restore the shape of an even cube.

How it differs from a regular 4x4 mirror cube

The key difference: the Super version is bandaged right out of the box. Some moves are blocked by the shape of the pieces, so even fully scrambling the cube takes a while. When solving, you need to plan your move order and often unblock a layer first before you can turn it. In the classic Lee Mirror 4x4, the pieces sit on a regular 4x4, so this problem doesn't occur at all.

The 7x7 mechanism also affects size and weight. According to external sources, the Super version is noticeably bigger and heavier than a regular 4x4 mirror cube, which you feel as soon as you pick it up.

Build and use

Each cube is made by hand, and the 3D-printed pieces are glued onto the 7x7 pieces. Sellers of this mod describe the turning as smooth, but this is not a cube for fast turning or high TPS. It's best to turn it calmly, without forcing blocked layers. The 3D-printed pieces don't like strong pressure or drops.

Who is it for?

This puzzle is for collectors and for people who can solve a 4x4 with no trouble (parity included) and have already solved a regular mirror cube. For a child or as a first mirror cube, the Mirror 3x3 is a better choice. Lee Mirror Super 4x4 is not WCA-legal.
