MoFangGe Ancient Coin Cube looks like an ordinary 60 mm cube from the outside, but it solves completely differently from a 3x3 cube. Each face has a round disc resembling an old coin that can be rotated in place. On top of that, the corners turn too. It is a hybrid puzzle with both face and corner turns (face- and corner-turning), released by MoFangGe, a brand owned by QiYi.

How the Ancient Coin Cube works

Each disc is made up of four oval pieces. Turning the disc moves them around the face. A corner can only be turned once the ovals around it are properly aligned. That corner turn takes along the three oval pieces adjacent to the corner. Because of this dependency, the puzzle requires a bit of planning: not every move is available at every moment.
