MoYu 3D Maze 60mm is a cube-shaped 3D maze with no turning layers. There is a ball inside, and the only way to steer it is by tilting and rotating the whole cube in your hands. You can see the ball through the walls, so you always know where it is and can plan your next move. We offer it in Blue.

How it works

The idea is simple: gravity rolls the ball, and you position the cube so it goes where you want. The path runs in three dimensions, so every now and then you have to turn the cube to another face and look at the maze from a different angle. You don't need algorithms or any knowledge of notation. What counts is patience, a steady hand and spatial awareness. A move that's too sudden usually sends the ball rolling back a bit.

How it differs from a 3x3 cube

This is a dexterity puzzle, not a twisty puzzle. There is no mechanism, no tension adjustment, no lube and nothing that could go out of adjustment. For a speedcuber it's more of a break from timed solving, something to keep your hands busy between solves. With a 3x3 cube the goal is to match the colors, while here the winner is whoever guides the ball most precisely.

Who is it for?

The 3D Maze is a great fit for kids and for people who don't solve cubes but enjoy simple puzzles. To get started, all you need to understand is that the ball rolls down, so there's nothing to explain. At 60 mm, the puzzle fits in your hand and is easy to take with you. It also works well as a small add-on to a bigger gift, for example together with a first 3x3 cube.
