MoYu 72 Blocks Snake Puzzle is a snake-type puzzle, also known as a magic snake. It is made of 72 triangular pieces joined into a single chain. There is no single solved state and no algorithms to learn. You twist the segments against each other and build your own shapes, flat patterns and 3D figures. The 72 version is the longest in the MoYu series, so it gives you the most material to build with.

How a snake works

Every connection between the pieces is a joint that rotates in steps. Combinations of these twists create walls, arches, closed solids or simple animal figures. With 72 pieces you can build noticeably bigger and more complex structures than with shorter snakes, but planning a specific figure also takes more twists and more patience. The mechanism has no magnets and the pieces turn lightly. This makes it easy to fiddle with just for fun, for example at your desk or while travelling.

MoYu makes this puzzle in five lengths: 24, 36, 48, 60 and 72 pieces. The shorter versions are quicker to get the hang of and fit better in a pocket. The 72 version is a good choice if you want to build larger forms or have got bored with a shorter version. The pieces come in several colors, so the individual segments are easy to see in the shapes you build.
