MoYu AI cube charging base

The MoYu AI cube charging base is a charging station for MoYu AI series smart cubes, the Bluetooth cubes that connect to an app on your phone. The base is shaped like a 3x3 cube, so it looks good on your desk or shelf next to the rest of your collection. It is the stationary version: the cube sits on it while charging, and you put it back in the same spot after every session. Power is supplied through a USB-C port.

How charging works

MoYu AI cubes have a built-in battery that charges through contacts on one of the faces. Just place the cube on the base with that face down, and the station holds it in place for the whole charging time. The cube won't slide off the base if you accidentally bump the desk, and it charges without you having to fiddle with a cable plugged into the cube itself.

The USB-C cable is not included. Any standard USB-C cable will work, and most people already have one at home, e.g. from their phone.

Base, box or power bank?

MoYu offers several accessories for charging AI cubes, and each one serves a slightly different purpose:

• Charging base (this station) is the simplest and smallest. It works well if your cube always charges in the same place, e.g. next to your computer.
• Charging box is handy when you also want the cube stored and protected.
• Charging box with power bank has its own battery, so you can charge your cube away from home, e.g. at competitions or while travelling.

Who is it for?

The base is useful if you already own a MoYu AI cube and want a second charger, e.g. one at home and one at work or school. It also makes a good spare if the original charger from the set gets lost or damaged. If you are buying it for a child who has an AI cube, check on the box or in the cube's manual that it is a MoYu AI series model. This station is not designed for cubes from other manufacturers, e.g. GAN.
