MoYu AI Smart Cube 3x3

MoYu AI Smart Cube is MoYu's first smart 3x3 cube, released in 2021. It is also known as the MoYu WeiLong AI. The cube has a built-in Bluetooth module and a rechargeable battery, so it connects to an app on your phone and sends every move to it. Without the app, it solves like a regular magnetic speedcube. For MoYu's first smart cube, that's a very good result.

How it turns

In looks and in the hand, the cube is very similar to the WeiLong 2021. People who have tried both models notice a slight difference while solving. The AI is a bit heavier and louder, and its turns have a distinct "clicky" sound. The magnets are medium strength and you can feel them well, but they are not adjustable. The matte surface can feel slippery at first, and the grip improves after some use.

Adjustment

The cube has a 9-level spring tension adjustment system. It also has adjustment screws that work similarly to the first version of the GES system. You change the settings with the double-ended key included in the set.

App and connectivity

The cube works with the Magic Heart Cube app. To be honest, we have to warn you: the app is inaccurate and can be problematic. The regular solving mode works, but some features, such as reconstructions, can be unpolished. The cube is charged in a dedicated charging station. The set also includes spare center caps without holes for the charging contacts.

Who is it for?

For anyone who wants a smart cube for training at home and cares about the cube turning well, not just collecting data. If polished software is your top priority, you'd better look for another smart cube. Smart cubes are not allowed in official competitions.
