MoYu Cube Mat

MoYu Cube Mat - a compact speedcubing mat

The MoYu Cube Mat is the smaller of the two blue MoYu speedcubing mats. The larger version is long and narrow, while this one has a rectangular format of approx. 50.5 x 37 cm. It fits on a regular desk and gives you a comfortable space for your cube, timer and inspection before a solve. It is also sold by distributors as the MoYu Competition Mat.

Material and build

The mat is made of rubber and does not stretch with use. The rubber is thicker than in Speed Stacks mats, so it cushions the cube better when you put it down and protects it if it accidentally slips out of your hand during fast turning. It grips the desk well, does not slide when you slap the timer and doesn't need anything to hold it down. The top features a colorful graphic with the MoYu logo.

A mat for your timer

The mat has holes for attaching a timer, designed for older-generation Speed Stacks timers. According to distributors, they do not fit Stackmat Gen 3 and Gen 4 timers. Many timers have rubber feet and stay stable without being attached, but if you want to attach a specific timer model, check its compatibility first.

Smaller or larger version?

The larger MoYu mat measures approx. 88 x 33 cm. It comes in handy when you place several cubes on it at once or practice with a timer and a camera. The smaller version serves the same purpose but takes up less space, and it's also easier to take to a cubing meetup or to school. For home practice with one cube and a timer, it's all you need.
