The MoYu Meilong V3 magnetic 13x13 cube with 184 positioning magnets and Ball-Core, in a compact 75 mm size. The magnets help keep all thirteen layers aligned, and you can adjust the tension with screws.

The magnetic version of the third-generation 13x13 cube from MoYu's budget Meilong series. It has 184 positioning magnets plus Ball-Core, meaning magnets in the core. MoYu added them to a design where, with thirteen layers, the biggest challenge is usually keeping everything aligned. The cube measures 75 mm, so it sits in your hand much like a regular 3x3 rather than like the huge big cubes of a few years ago.
On a cube this large, lockups usually come from layers left slightly misaligned after a turn. The positioning magnets close each move with a noticeable snap, and the cube pulls the layer into place by itself. As a result, you need to correct alignment less often before the next turn. Ball-Core, with 8 magnets in the core, also stabilizes the centre of the cube, so the whole puzzle shifts out of shape less during faster turning and when you turn several layers at once.
The mechanism is built around an integrated core with six arms. The design also includes anti-pop features, which matter a lot with so many small pieces. Tension adjustment uses classic screws, so you can set the cube looser for speed or tighter if you prefer control.
The Meilong 13x13 V3 is also available without magnets. The standard version is noticeably lighter and cheaper, but keeping the layers aligned is entirely up to you. The M Ball-Core version is chosen by cubers who want a more stable cube that stays more predictable during long solves. Expect a higher weight and turning with noticeable magnetic resistance. Compared with the first Meilong 13x13, which was about 100 mm, the V3 is much smaller, so its pieces are smaller too. This calls for more precise finger work.
This cube is for those who have already worked through smaller big cubes (7x7, 9x9 or 11x11) and want to move on to 13x13 without fighting misaligned layers. It also suits collectors who want a 13x13 that is fit for regular solving, not just for display on a shelf. It is not suitable as a first cube: solving a 13x13 takes a long time and requires knowing the reduction method.
