MoYu Meilong 2x2 Bead Cube

MoYu Meilong 2x2 Bead Cube is a regular 2x2 cube with a second puzzle built in. Each of the six faces has a circular track with 12 coloured beads. The beads scramble independently of the face colours, so solving the 2x2 alone doesn't finish the job. The cube comes in a stickerless bright version, and some catalogues also list it as the MFJS 2x2 Magic Bead Cube (MFJS is a MoYu brand).

How the bead cube works

You can rotate the bead track on each face separately. After a few moves the cube looks heavily scrambled, because both the face colours and the bead colours are mixed up. You can solve the 2x2 first and deal with the beads afterwards. Or you can treat it as one harder puzzle and solve everything at once. If you already know a 2x2 method, this second layer of the puzzle makes you plan your moves differently than usual.

What to expect when solving

This is a cube for fun and for your collection, not a speedcube for competitions. The beads and tracks take up space inside the pieces, so the cube is bigger than a typical 2x2. It measures approx. 65.5 mm, while a standard 2x2 is usually around 50 mm. It's made of plastic without a UV coating. What matters here is the idea and the fact that you can always solve it in several ways, not TPS or corner cutting.

As with any 2x2 cube, don't force the corners to twist, so you don't damage the pieces.
