MoYu Meilong 3x3x3 M V2 UV

MoYu Meilong 3x3x3 M V2 UV is the second generation of one of the most popular budget magnetic 3x3 cubes. It was released in 2024 under the MFJS (MoFang JiaoShi) brand, which belongs to MoYu. The UV version has a glossy UV Coated finish that gives a stronger grip than the matte plastic of the standard version. In our shop it is available in the stickerless bright colour scheme.

How it turns

The Meilong M V2 is very fast right out of the box and needs no setup or lubing before you start solving. According to user reviews, some people even find it too fast. If you prefer a calmer, more controllable feel, you can apply a thicker lube to slow the cube down a little. The magnets are not strong. They help the layers settle into place, but they don't give the distinct, heavy "click" of more expensive models. The pieces have a "dragon scale" pattern, meaning textured edge–corner contact surfaces that help spread the lube and reduce friction. Corner cutting is good enough for learning and casual solving, but with very aggressive turning you may get lockups. It is still a budget cube, not a flagship.

Adjustment

The Meilong has no spring tension adjustment or compression system. You can only change the factory setting by tightening or loosening the screws in the core, and a screwdriver is included. For a beginner this is actually an advantage, as there is nothing to set up before the first solve.

UV, standard or Lite?

All V2 versions share the same mechanism; the differences are in the finish and what's included. The standard version has a matte (frosted) surface, while the UV one is glossy and gives a better grip. The Lite variant has the same mechanism but is sold without accessories. If you want stronger magnets and a more stable cube, take a look at the Meilong V2+, which has additional magnets in the edges.

Who is it for?

For anyone buying their first magnetic cube or switching from a non-magnetic one, and for parents looking for a decent speedcubing cube for their child without spending a lot. It also works well as a backup cube or one to carry in your backpack. Speedcubers who need adjustment and strong magnets will find them in mid-range and high-end models.
