In one box you get four magnetic cubes from the budget MeiLong (MFJS) series: MeiLong 2M, 3M, 4M and 5M. The MoYu MeiLong M Bundle covers all the basic NxN cubes up to 5x5, so you don't have to buy each size separately. The cubes come in the stickerless bright version, packed in a gift box together with an adjustment tool.

How do they turn?

The letter M in the name stands for magnets installed at the factory in the pieces. At the end of each move they help the layer settle into place, so every turn finishes with a noticeable "click" and the cube is less likely to be left with a misaligned layer. You feel this most on the 4x4 and 5x5, where misaligned layers and lockups are common without magnets. Turning is smooth, with a slightly "clacky" sound. All four cubes come from the same series and have a similar character, so when you switch sizes you don't have to get used to a completely different feel.

Keep in mind, though, that this is a budget series. Out of the box the cubes can be dry and fairly loose. Users point out the lack of lube especially on the 5x5. A quick setup, meaning a little lube and tightening the tension, clearly improves their performance. You won't find MagLev, Ball-Core, compression adjustment or magnet strength adjustment here. You can adjust the tension, and the tool you need for it is included in the set.

Who is it for?

The set makes sense for beginners who want several sizes right away, and for anyone who already solves the 3x3 and wants to try the 4x4 and 5x5 without spending a lot. It's a good gift for a child who is just starting out with cubes: the box looks nice, and the magnets make it easier to control the layers. If you already have a good 3x3 for practice, the main value of the set lies in the inexpensive 2x2, 4x4 and 5x5 for learning. If you're looking for a flagship 3x3 to break records, you should look at higher-end cubes.
