MoYu RS3M 2021 Maglev 3x3x3

This is one of the first mass-produced cubes to use a MagLev system instead of springs. The MoYu RS3M 2021 MagLev 3x3x3 uses the same parts as the popular RS3M 2020: core, corners, edges, screws and the blue adjustment system. What has changed is the inside of the centers. Instead of a spring, each center has two magnets that repel each other. The cube is magnetic and stickerless, and it is made by MoFangJiaoShi, the company behind the MoYu brand.

How the RS3M 2021 MagLev turns

Without springs, there is less friction inside the cube and none of the typical spring noise. Out of the box, the RS3M 2021 is very fast, and some reviewers even find it too fast, so it is worth adjusting the settings right away. Corner cutting is good, although occasional lockups can happen. Without lube, the feel can be sandy, and the plastic itself is fairly loud. A good lubing usually helps a lot. The positioning magnets are generally considered on the weaker side, so the layers don't snap into place as clearly as on newer, more strongly magnetized cubes.

Adjustment

The RS3M 2021 has dual adjustment. You set the layer tension with the screws, and with the included blue key you change the strength of the MagLev system, i.e. the distance between the magnets in the centers. A stronger MagLev setting gives a tighter, more controlled turn, while a weaker one increases speed.

Versions and successors

The model became very popular, especially in the United States. There was even a Cubers' Home version with core magnets, designed for those who find the standard cube not stable enough. The version described here is the standard RS3M 2021 MagLev without core magnets.

Who is it for?

The RS3M 2021 MagLev is an affordable way to try out MagLev without buying a flagship cube. It works well for anyone moving up to their first magnetic cube and for casual cubers. The cube is legal for official competitions. If you prefer a very stable, strongly magnetic feel, you may need some time for adjusting and lubing.

Dlaczego......
Odebrałem dzisiaj. Jestem amatorem. Miałem kostkę Rubik, elastyczną ale bez ściętych krawędzi. Układem, miło skrzypiała, dłonie się relaksowały. Trafiłem na jakiś artykuł. Trochę zacząłem zgłębiać temat. Zapadła decyzja, że kupię coś nowego. Zdecydowałem się na ten model. Także, jak wspomniałem, przyszła paczka. Rozpakowałem, zakręciłem kilka razy i sam sobie zadałem pytanie.
