The second generation of MoYu's fast WeiLong GTS in a non-magnetic version: 55.5 mm, approx. 80 g, tension adjustment with screws. It is more stable than the first GTS and offers light, smooth turning. The magnetic GTS2 M version was used to set the record 3.47 s solve.

MoYu WeiLong GTS v2 3x3x3

The second generation of the WeiLong GTS, MoYu's flagship 3x3x3 cube from before the Ball-Core and MagLev era. The MoYu WeiLong GTS v2 is a non-magnetic version, 55.5 mm in size and weighing about 80 g. The first GTS was very fast but also unstable. For the v2, MoYu redesigned the pieces: the edge track is V-shaped and the corners are made of three parts. This design made it possible to offer a stickerless version again. The cube is also slightly smaller than its predecessor.

How it turns

The GTS v2 is light and fast, and its feel is usually described as smooth with slight resistance. According to reviews, it is noticeably more stable than the first GTS, but it still works best with light turning. With a firmer grip and without a good setup, it may feel less controllable. Corner cutting reaches about 45°. Some cubers feel the original GTS cut better in this respect. If you want to slow the cube down, a thicker lube is the usual choice.

Adjustment

Tension is set with classic adjustment screws in the core. There is no separate compression adjustment, no numbered settings and no MagLev system. It is a simple design that is easy to take apart, clean and re-lube.

GTS v2 or GTS2 M?

There is also a factory-magnetized version, the GTS2 M, with magnets in the edges and corners. On that cube, Yusheng Du solved the 3x3x3 in 3.47 s at Wuhu Open 2018. It was the first official result under 4 seconds and the world record for several years. This cube is the non-magnetic version. It gives freer, more fluid layer movement, but it does not help you align the layers.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want a fast non-magnetic cube or enjoy light, fluid turning. It is also a good choice if you are interested in a model connected to speedcubing history. Keep in mind that this is an older design. For a first cube, a newer magnetic model is usually a better choice, as it is easier to control and more forgiving of imprecise turns.

    Fajna kostka

    Bardzo dobra kostka, chodzi leciutko, sama się kręci, przez co ciężko nad nią zapanować. Smar fabryczny szybko się niestety zaciera, więc kostkę trzeba nasmarować (bez smarowania trze i nieprzyjemnie zacina), ale i tak warto :).

    Fantastiko nie za friko!

    Szybka, luźna, gładkie poruszanie, duży zakres ścianania zakrętów. Jest jeden punkt, w którym kostka zakrętu nie zetnie. Gdy się przyglądnie można zauważyć dlaczego tak jest. Na początku przygodą z GTS v2 miałem kilka rolling popów, ale była to kwestia tego, iż nie miałem odpowiedniego doświadczenia z tym cudem. Ogólnie rzecz biorąc polecam jak najbardziej, ale radzę również zastanowić się nad wersją z magnesami.
