MSCUBE MS3-L 3x3 Enhanced

The MS3-L is the second 3x3 model from MsCUBE. The brand was founded by a former GAN designer and was taken over by DianSheng in 2022. The cube was released in September 2021 as a more affordable alternative to the MS3-V1. The MSCUBE MS3-L 3x3 Enhanced is a version of this magnetic cube with additional magnets. It has 96 of them, twice as many as the Standard version. We sell it in the stickerless bright colour scheme, with transparent blue internal pieces.

How it turns

The MS3-L is light, fairly fast and quite flexible. The turning is smooth, but the magnets give it a noticeable, slightly "bumpy" and tactile feel. Opinions on this cube are mixed. Some cubers praise its speed and good corner cutting. Others say it is hard to control even at the strongest settings and that lockups occasionally happen. Despite their number, the magnets are usually described as moderate. If you like strong magnets and a stable feel, this cube probably won't suit your taste.

What the Enhanced version changes

The standard MS3-L has 48 magnets. The Enhanced version adds a second set, placed in the feet of the corners and edges, i.e. their inner parts. These magnets help the layers snap into place, but the cube is still not a strongly magnetised one. The only difference between the versions is the magnets. The construction and the adjustment system are the same.

Adjustment and construction

• Tension is changed by swapping the centre pieces and core parts. Extra adjustment sets are included.
• 3 spring compression levels are set under the cap of each centre. The system isn't very intuitive at first, so it's worth taking a moment to get to know it.
• The spiderweb pattern is a grid on the contact surfaces of the pieces that helps spread the lube.

Who is it for?

For a cuber who already has a first magnetic cube and wants to try a model with a different, unusual feel without buying a flagship. It will suit those who like light, fast cubes and are happy to spend time on setup. For a child's first cube, it's better to choose a model with simpler adjustment, as taking apart and setting up the MS3-L takes some practice.
