QiYi Colored Translucent Magnetic Void 3x3 is a Void Cube, a 3x3 cube without centers. In place of the centers there is a hole running all the way through, so you can see the empty space inside the cube from every side. This version has colored, translucent pieces and magnets, so it looks different from a regular cube while still being solvable in the normal way.

How a Void Cube differs from a regular 3x3

On a classic cube, the centers define the color of each face. Here there are none, so you solve only the edges and corners, and which color goes where depends on how they sit relative to each other. If you can solve a regular 3x3, you can solve this one too. You just need to change the way you think about the cube. Without centers you may run into a parity case that doesn't exist on a normal 3x3. You get out of it with a single middle-layer move and then solve the cube again.

Magnets and turning

The edges and corners have 48 magnets that help the layers settle into place. According to customer reviews, the cube turns smoothly right out of the box, aligns itself well and has no problems with lockups. Keep in mind, though, that this cube is mainly for fun and for your collection. It doesn't compete with flagship 3x3 speed cubes, and the Void Cube is not a WCA event.
