QiYi Display - timer display

QiYi Display is a large LED display for a speedcubing timer. It looks like the time boards used at competitions. It doesn't measure anything by itself; it simply shows the time from the connected timer, accurate to three decimal places. This means you can see the result from a distance, not just on the small screen of the timer lying next to the mat. The display connects to the timer with a cable via an audio (jack) connector.

What it's useful for

At your home setup, it helps you practice in competition-like conditions, because you see the time in front of you, just like at official events. It's also handy in clubs, at school tournaments, at small cubing meetups and on streams, whenever several people need to see the result at once. The digits glow red. The matte, semi-transparent polycarbonate cover diffuses the light, so the display is easy on the eyes.

Mounting and connection

The display mounts on a holder that screws onto a tabletop. Assembly takes a few minutes, and a screwdriver is included. According to distributor data, the holder fits tabletops up to 75 mm thick, and the whole unit is approx. 32 cm tall from the base.

Pay attention to the cable. The set includes a 3.5 mm - 3.5 mm cable. It works with the QiYi timer and other timers with a 3.5 mm socket. For timers with a 2.5 mm socket, such as SpeedStacks or YJ, you need a separate 2.5 mm - 3.5 mm cable. Before buying, check which socket your timer has.

A micro USB power cable is included, but no wall adapter. You'll need a USB charger or a USB port on your computer.

Who is it for?

For cubers who already have a timer and want a setup closer to what they'd find at competitions. It also works well for competition organizers, schools and clubs. If you're just starting out and don't have a timer yet, buy a timer first, because the display won't work without one.
