QiYi Haptic Coin Button

QiYi Haptic Coin Button

A small gadget from QiYi for anyone who likes to keep their hands busy. QiYi Haptic Coin Button is a round fidget shaped like a thick coin. It has a clicky button on each side, and its two halves rotate independently of each other. It's not a puzzle to solve. It's a toy for clicking and twisting at your desk, while studying or between solves.

How the Haptic Coin Button works

You can use the coin in two ways. The first is the buttons on both sides, which give a distinct click when pressed. The second is rotating the halves. Each one turns separately and snaps into the next position roughly every 45° with a noticeable click. This stepped resistance you can feel under your fingers is where the word "haptic" in the name comes from. Both functions are easy to combine when you hold the coin between your thumb and index finger.

The Coin Button works by clicking, so it isn't silent. Keep that in mind in quiet places, such as a classroom.

Button or Spinner?

In the same series, QiYi also makes the Haptic Coin Spinner, which is easy to confuse with the Button version. The Spinner has fixed finger pads on both sides, and the coin itself spins freely, much like a small fidget spinner. The Button is all about clicking: it has buttons, and its halves rotate in distinct steps. If you prefer smooth spinning, go for the Spinner. If you like clicks, choose the Button.

Who is it for?

For cubers and anyone who fiddles with a pen or a cube while working or studying and wants something smaller and quieter than a cube. The coin is light and fits comfortably in your hand. It also works well as a small add-on to your order or a little gift. Two colors are available: Blue and Green.
