QiYi M Pro 3x3x3 Elite

QiYi M Pro 3x3x3 Elite is one of several versions in the M Pro series, QiYi's more affordable line of magnetic 3x3 cubes. What sets it apart from the basic version is its adjustment system, taken from the flagship X-Man Tornado V3. It is still a simple spring-based cube: there is no MagLev and no core magnets, and the plastic has a matte (frosted) finish with no UV coating. We offer it in the stickerless bright colour scheme.

How it turns

Turning is smooth, with a distinct, slightly "clicky" sound. The magnets are medium strength, so the cube settles the layers without you having to fight it. Corner cutting is good and fairly lively for a cube in this price range. User opinions on lockups are mixed: some people praise how easy it is to control, while others report that it sometimes catches on less precise moves. This can usually be improved with the right setup and lube.

Adjustment

• 7 spring compression settings that you can change without tools.
• No dual adjustment. The settings are simpler than on the more expensive M Pro versions. If you like to fine-tune your setup, you may find the range too limited.
• Magnet strength cannot be changed.

Elite compared with other M Pro versions

The MagLev version uses repelling magnets instead of springs and turns faster. The Ball-Core UV additionally has core magnets and a glossy coating, which give more stability and grip, but they also make the cube noticeably heavier. The Art has black plastic with coloured tiles and rounded corners. The Elite is a classic spring-based design with more convenient adjustment than the Standard version. There is also the Elite UV, which differs only in its coating.

Who is it for?

It makes a great first magnetic cube for learning speedcubing or an inexpensive backup cube. The Elite is also a good choice for parents looking for something better for their child than an ordinary supermarket cube. People who already train seriously may prefer the Ball-Core version or cubes with full adjustment.
