QiYi M Pro Pyraminx Pioneer UV

QiYi M Pro Pyraminx Pioneer UV is the higher of the two versions of the magnetic pyraminx from the M Pro series, released in 2025. The cheaper Flagship only has magnets in the pieces. On top of that, the Pioneer UV gets MagLev instead of classic springs, core magnets and a glossy UV coating. The colour scheme is stickerless bright.

How it turns

The magnets in the pieces give a clear "click" when layers line up. The core magnets also help with auto-alignment, so layers settle into place more easily during fast turning. MagLev replaces the springs with repelling magnets, which reduces friction and gives a lighter, faster feel. Corner cutting comes from the large, rounded openings in the pieces, and grooves in the plastic reduce the pieces sticking to each other.

Early user reviews praise the turning itself, but also point out issues with the tips. Some people say the tips turn more slowly than the rest of the puzzle, their magnets are weak and the tips pop out easily. This is not a technical specification, just feedback from a few reviews. If you rely heavily on tip turns, keep this in mind.

Tension adjustment

The puzzle has an 11-level tension adjustment system, so you can set it looser for speed or tighter for control. On a pyraminx this matters, because the setting strongly affects stability and how easily pieces pop.

Both versions are the same size (96 mm) and have magnets in the pieces. The Flagship has matte plastic, springs and no core magnets. It weighs approx. 64 g. The Pioneer UV has MagLev, core magnets and a UV coating with stronger grip. It weighs approx. 69 g. The Pioneer gives more auto-alignment and a faster feel. The Flagship is the cheaper and simpler option, and it is also well suited for practice.

Who is it for?

For people who practise pyraminx for time and want a magnetic puzzle with strong layer alignment and a glossy finish. For a child's first pyraminx, or to try out whether you'll enjoy this puzzle, the Flagship version is usually enough.
