QiYi Pillow Keychain

This tiny 3x3x3 cube from QiYi hangs on a keychain, but it solves just like a regular cube. QiYi Pillow Keychain is a fully functional keychain cube. It fits in your pocket or hangs on your keys or backpack. At about 30 mm, it is much smaller than a standard 3x3 cube (usually about 56 mm). It weighs less than 30 g.

Pillow shape and jelly plastic

The word "Pillow" in the name describes the shape. The faces are slightly convex, like a pillow, so the cube looks rounded and sits better in your fingers than a flat cube of this size. The second distinctive feature is the translucent, colored plastic in the Jelly color version, with no stickers. The colors are candy-like. Because the plastic is translucent, the contrast between the faces is moderate and not as sharp as on cubes made of solid, opaque plastic.

How it turns

The mechanism is mid-range, but for a keychain that is more than enough. The cube turns smoothly and pleasantly, and catching is rare. Keep the size in mind, though: at 30 mm with convex faces, fingertricks are much harder than on a full-size cube. So this is not a cube for breaking records or timed practice. It is more of a cube to play with while waiting in line, on the bus or during a break. For casual solving and practicing algorithms on the go, it works well.
