1. QiYi QiMing Pyraminx: a tetrahedron and the easiest one to start with. The solution is short, and solving it quickly becomes addictive. At competitions, record times are under two seconds.
2. QiYi QiCheng Skewb: a cube, but it turns around the corners rather than the faces. It has only 8 corners and 6 centers, so you'll master the beginner method quickly. The real challenge is switching to a completely different way of thinking about moves.
3. QiYi QiHeng S Megaminx: a dodecahedron with 12 faces. If you can solve a 3x3, most of the patterns will feel familiar. Solving simply takes longer, and it's a great way to learn patience and plan your next steps.
4. QiYi Mastermorphix: a 3x3 shape mod. The mechanism and moves are the same as on a 3x3, but the pieces have different shapes, and the centers also need to be placed in the correct orientation. The Mastermorphix is not a WCA event. It's more of a curiosity and a good brain teaser than a cube for beating your times.
