QiYi QiHeng S Megaminx Sculpture

An affordable, proven megaminx to start your adventure with the dodecahedron.
Many people start learning the megaminx on the QiYi QiHeng S Megaminx Sculpture. It's a simple, budget puzzle without magnets, in the stickerless bright color scheme. It's good for learning, and you can practice on it just as much as on a much more expensive model.

What "S" means: Sculpture

The S version has concave corners and edges. This creates distinct recesses on every face that noticeably improve grip. On a megaminx this matters a lot: you turn many faces at different angles, and your fingers easily slip on a smooth surface. With a sculpted surface, lockups caused by a poor grip are less likely, and it's easier to adjust your hand position while solving. QiYi also sold a regular QiHeng without this sculpting, with stickers.

How the QiHeng S megaminx turns

The faces turn smoothly, and the feel is rather smooth. Corner cutting is at a good level, so a slightly misaligned face usually won't block the next move. The stickerless colors are well chosen and clearly distinguishable from one another, which helps with recognizing pieces. Adjustment screws let you change the tension and set the puzzle looser or tighter.
To be honest, this is not a fast megaminx. Without magnets, the faces don't stop on their own in alignment, so at higher TPS you need to control them more carefully. During casual solving and learning algorithms you'll hardly notice it, but when you're chasing times, you will.

Who is it for?

For people who are just learning the megaminx or solve it from time to time, and for parents looking for an inexpensive first puzzle of this type for their child. If you want to train regularly for competitions, you should consider a magnetic model right away, e.g. the newer QiHeng S2 generation in the M version. Even so, the QiHeng S is allowed in official competitions.

    Rewelacyjna kostka do nauki megaminx'a!

Kostka chodzi płynnie, nie zacina się oraz dobrze ścina niewielkie zakręty. Kolory są piękne a zagłębienia pomagają wykonywać algorytmy szybciej i wygodniej. Polecam na pierwszą kość
