QiYi Training Mat - Hand Graffiti

QiYi Training Mat - Hand Graffiti

QiYi Training Mat - Hand Graffiti is a speedcubing training mat from the Training Mat series by QiYi (QiYi MoFangGe). It has a hand-drawn graffiti-style print on a blue background. It measures approx. 49 x 30 cm and is 3 mm thick. It fits on a regular desk and still gives you enough room to put down your cube and timer.

What is a cube mat for?

A mat is most useful for everyday practice. When you put your cube down, it doesn't clatter on the desk or slide around, and an accidental drop from a small height ends on a soft surface instead of a hard table. For a magnetic flagship cube, it's a simple way to protect it from dents and scratches. Your desk is protected too, which matters when you lube your cubes at your desk or take them apart.

A mat also helps you keep your practice organized. Your cube, timer and lube stay in one place, and a fixed spot makes it easier to build a consistent setup before every solve. If you're just starting out, it's an inexpensive way to create a comfortable place to practice at home.

Size and thickness

The 3 mm thickness is enough to cushion your cube when you put it down, and the mat still lies flat easily. This isn't a thick, heavily cushioned competition mat. It's thinner and more convenient, so you can roll it up and take it to a cubing meetup or to school. The 49 x 30 cm size is enough for one cube and a timer. For sessions with several cubes at once or for larger puzzles, a bigger mat will work better.

Hand Graffiti design

The QiYi Training Mat comes in several graphic designs. The dimensions are the same; only the print differs. The Hand Graffiti version features a casual, sketch-style motif in blue tones and suits a student's desk or a gaming setup.
